When AI is part of the decision, you still own it.

Staff draft with it. Suppliers build it into the software you already pay for. Decisions in your organisation are being shaped by tools you answer for. Have you examined the evidence for those decisions?

Two ways in

The open session gives you the questions. The briefing gives you answers fitted to your organisation.

1. The open session: for directors and executives

A one-hour online session on what accountability for AI means in practice: who answers, what to record, and where a person must decide. Join from anywhere, alongside directors from other organisations. You leave with the questions to put to your next board meeting.

AUD 120 a seat, including GST · Dates go first to people who register.

We use these details only to tell you about the session. See our privacy policy.

2. The briefing: built for your board

Half a day with your board or executive team, prepared around your organisation, your sector and the tools you actually use.

You leave with:

  • A decision register: a template, set up to run in the tools you already have and populated with your own decisions.
  • A clear line: a template for choosing which decisions stay with a person and which you’re prepared to delegate.
  • Stop points: worked examples of the decisions where a person must sign off before anything happens.
  • The questions to put to your suppliers about the AI built into what you buy.
  • A written briefing note within a week, for your minutes and your next meeting.

Fee: AUD 4,200 + GST, fixed and agreed before we start.

Who it’s for

  • Not-for-profit boards answering to members, funders and regulators.
  • Owners and executive teams of small and mid-sized businesses adopting AI faster than their policies.
  • Health, aged-care and community-service providers, where decisions touch personal information and duty of care.

You don’t need to be “doing AI” already. Most organisations are, without having decided to.

How the briefing works

  1. A 30-minute conversation about your organisation and the decisions on your mind. Free.
  2. A preparation call with your chair or chief executive.
  3. The briefing. We come to you anywhere in South East Queensland, or run it online.
  4. Your briefing note and decision register, populated with examples from the briefing, within a week.

What it isn’t

  • Not a technical audit. We don’t test your systems.
  • Not a sales pitch. We take no commissions from AI suppliers.
  • Not legal advice. We help you see the questions clearly; your lawyers answer the legal ones.

Why Ebono

Ebono is led by Dr Geoff Ebbs: researcher, writer and former technology editor, working where technology meets people for thirty years. We practise what we brief: Ebono runs its own work on a logged decision system supported by AI, where every act is recorded and every irreversible step waits for a person.

We’re working with a small number of founding clients. If you’d like to be one, tell us about the decisions your organisation is making.
